Gemadept Corporation (GMD) already exceeded sales targets for the year but will likely fall well below targets on net profits. The core businesses have done fairly well and look in very good shape despite the general slowdown. Indeed gross margins have held up well. However due to large provisions against their equity portfolio they may even post a loss this year. With two new ports coming into operation next year GMD earnings are poised to benefit from any economic recovery.
