Introduction

Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Foreign Trade of Vietnam (Vietcombank) is a Vietnam-based financial institution. The Bank is engaged in the offering of commercial banking services for individual and corporate clients, such as account opening and credit card issuing. It is also involved in international clearing, foreign exchange dealing and money transfer. Other activities of the Bank include documentary discounting, guarantee, clean collection, financial leasing and securities dealing.

  • Commercial Bank For Foreign Trade Of Vietnam was established in Apr 01, 1963 following Decision No. 115/CP dated Oct 30, 1962 of the State Council by separating from the Foreign Exchange Management Department of the Central Bank (now known as the State Bank of Viet Nam).
  • Following Decision No. 286/QD-NH5 dated Sept 21, 1996 of the State Bank’s governor, it was re-established.
  • On Jun 02, 2008, the bank officially operated as a joint stock commercial bank with business registration certificate No. 0103024468 issued by Ha Noi Department of Planning and Investment.
  • On June 12, 2009, the company’s shares were officially traded on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange.
