Vietnam Mechanization Electrification & Construction Joint Stock Company (MECO) is a Vietnam-based company engaged in the engineering and construction sector. The Company is engaged in the construction and installation of irrigational works, hydroelectric plants, water supply and sewage systems, electricity structures, as well as other civil and industrial structures. It is also involved in the manufacturing and trading of machinery and equipment used in agriculture, forestry, construction and food processing industries. In addition, the Company is involved in the mining of stones, sand and gravels for manufacture of construction materials, as well as hydroelectricity generation

Vietnam Mechanization Electrification & Construction Joint Stock Company was previously known as a tractor repairing workshop, which was established in 1956, then renamed to Tractor Overhaul Factory in 1969 and Ha Noi Agricultural Mechanics Factory 1 in 1977.
On Dec 12, 1990, Ha Noi Agricultural Mechanics Factory 1 was renamed to Ha Noi Mechanization Electrification Factory.
In 1993, Ha Noi Mechanization Electrification Factory was renamed to Mechanization Electrification and Rural Development Company.
In 2003, Mechanization Electrification and Rural Development Company was renamed to Ha Noi Mechanization Electrification, Agricultural Construction and Irrigation Company.
Following Decision No 4465/QD/BNN-TCCB dated Dec 09, 2005 of the Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, the company was transformed into Vietnam Mechanization Electrification & Construction Joint Stock Company (MECO). Its initial charter capital was VND 12 billion.
On June 21, 2007, MECO’s charter capital was adjusted to VND 66 billion.
On May 21, 2008, charter capital was adjusted to VND 168 billion.
In 2009, charter capital was adjusted to VND 188 billion via issuing convertible bonds. On Sep 16, 2009, the company’s shares were officially listed on the Ho Chi Minh City Stock Exchange.
As of Jan 15, 2010, its paid-up charter capital was VND 132 billion. After using bonus shares and providing individual offering, as of Apr 18, 2010, its paid-up charter capital was VND 168 billion.
In 2010, its charter capital was adjusted to 546 billion.
In 2011, its charter capital was adjusted to 575,1 billion.
