  • Dinh Vu Port was established as a joint stock company whose founder was Hai Phong Port under Vietnam Shipping Lines. Dinh Vu Port was under the management of Vietnam Maritime Administration. The establishment of Dinh Vu Port is indispensable for the purpose of catching up with the regional development, serving the increasing quantity of cargos and raising Hai Phong province to a higher development. It has a critical significance in the development strategy for the economic triangle of Hanoi, Hai Phong and Quang Ninh. .
  • In 2002, the General Director of Vietnam Shipping Lines signed Decision No 990/QD-TGD dated Nov 11, 2002 on approving the establishment of Dinh Vu Port Investment and Development Joint Stock Company with the initial charter capital of VND 100 billion by founding shareholders namely Hai Phong Port, Vietnam General Corporation of Agricultural Materials,  Doan Xa Port Joint Stock Company, Vat Cach Port Joint Stock Company, Hai Phong Port General Trading and Service Joint Stock Company, and stakeholders of Hai Phong Port.
  • On Dec 19, 2002, the company was officially established.
  • From 2002-2005: the company implemented development plan phase I to prepare infrastructure and personnel for port operation in 2005.
  • On Feb 25, 2005, according to Decision No 87/QD CHHVN of Vietnam Maritime Administration, Whaft No 1 was put into operation.
  • On June 13, 2008, according to Decision No 377/QD CHHVN of Vietnam Maritime Administration, Whaft No 2 was put into operation.
  • On Dec 01, 2009, the company's shares were officially listed on Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange.
  • In 2013, its charter capital was adjusted from VND 200 billion to VND 400 billion via issuing bonus shares for existing shareholders.
