BSC Brief | 03.11: VN-Index tests the 1,700 level, while further downside risks remain

EQUITY MARKET

VN-Index extended its decline today, falling more than 11 points to close at 1,699.62. Market breadth was relatively balanced, with 9 of 18 sectors advancing. Basic Resources gained more than 3%, while Media and Insurance fell by around 5%. Foreign investors were net sellers on HSX and UPCOM, while remaining net buyers on HNX. Today’s decline was driven mainly by selling pressure in VIC; however, VN-Index overall remains in the correction trend that began around the 1,780 level. In the coming sessions, investors should remain mindful of the possibility that the index may continue to retreat and retest the recent low around 1,689 points.

All VN30 futures contracts edged higher in line with the VN30 Index.

During the trading session on November 3, 2026, covered warrants traded in a choppy manner, broadly in line with the movements of their underlying stocks.

• VN-Index -11.10 pts, closing at 1,699.62. HNX-Index +0.87 pts, closing at 251.42. UPCoM-Index +0.10 pts, closing at 122.05.
• Top positive contributors: HPG (+1.57), STB (+0.60), HVN (+0.51), CTG (+0.49), GVR (+0.43).
• Top negative contributors: VIC (-12.85), BSR (-0.81), GAS (-0.79), VPB (-0.72), BVH (-0.57).
• VN-Index matched value reached VND 10,496 bn, down 34.05% from the previous session and 16.8% below the 20-session average. Total trading value was VND 13,063 bn.
• Intraday range: 16.8 pts. HOSE had 152 advancers (2 at the ceiling), 113 unchanged and 137 decliners (5 at the floor).
• Foreign investors were net sellers of VND -502.42 bn on HOSE, led by MBB (-254.90 bn), VCB (-219.14 bn), VIC (-114.49 bn), GMD (-74.24 bn), BID (-65.25 bn). This marks 8 consecutive sessions of net selling; year-to-date net selling on HOSE totals VND -122,931 bn.
• Foreign investors were net buyers of VND +7.14 bn on HNX and net sellers of VND -2.52 bn on UPCoM.
