BSC Brief | 27.08: Market Sentiment Turns Cautious

MARKET OUTLOOK
The VN-Index attempted to break above the 1,700 level today but failed to do so. Profit-taking pressure dragged the index into a sideways range between 1,665 and 1,683 before closing at 1,672.78, up more than 5 points from the previous session. Market breadth was fairly balanced, with 11 out of 18 sectors gaining, led by Technology, followed by Financial Services, Retail, and Banks. As for foreign investors, net selling was recorded on HSX and UPCOM, while net buying occurred on HNX. The market is showing signs of caution after several sessions with wide fluctuations. In the upcoming sessions, the VN-Index is expected to continue seeking a balance within the 1,600–1,700 range. The index needs to gradually narrow its trading range to establish a more solid base.
