BSC Brief | 23.10: VN-Index enters the resistance zone, with volatility likely to increase

Market commentary

EQUITY MARKET

VN-Index continued to gain nearly 14 points today and closed at 1,774.15. However, the advance was still driven mainly by the Vin group stocks. Market breadth was relatively balanced, with 11 of 18 sectors declining. Banks and Real Estate gained more than 1%, while Personal & Household Goods and Basic Resources fell by more than 1%. Foreign investors were net sellers on HSX and UPCOM, while remaining net buyers on HNX. The next one to two sessions will be a sensitive period as VN-Index attempts to fill the gap at 1,768–1,778; volatility may increase as the index tests this resistance zone. Investors should continue to trade cautiously.

• Foreign investors were net sellers of VND -477.96 bn on HOSE, led by ACB (-469.41 bn), FPT (-146.43 bn), PNJ (-109.53 bn), STB (-83.54 bn), VPL (-76.53 bn). This marks 1 consecutive sessions of net selling; year-to-date net selling on HOSE totals VND -119,211 bn.
• Foreign investors were net buyers of VND +10.59 bn on HNX and net sellers of VND -2.87 bn on UPCoM.
