BSC Brief | 1.08: VN-Index struggles around the 1,500 level

MARKET OUTLOOK
The VN-Index continued to decline today, losing over 7 points and closing at 1,495.21. Market breadth was relatively balanced, with 9 out of 18 sectors advancing. The Media sector led the gains with an increase of over 4%, followed by the Personal & Household Goods sector. On the other hand, the Industrial Goods & Services sector posted the sharpest decline. Regarding foreign investor activity, there was continued strong net selling of over VND 2 trillion on the HSX exchange. The tug-of-war around the 1,500 level shows no signs of ending.

The futures contracts moved in the opposite direction of the VN30 Index, except for VN30F2512.

During the trading session on 01/08/2025, warrants fluctuated according to the struggling movement of the underlying stocks.

• Pulling the index up: FPT (+1.07), PNJ (+0.50), HDB (+0.46), TAL (+0.45), PGV (+0.38).
• Pulling the index down: CTG (-1.95), VIC (-1.34), BID (-1.05), GEX (-0.75), VNM (-0.58).
• The matched trade value of VN-Index reached VND 36,589 billion, decreased -12.61% compared to the previous session. The total transaction value reached VND 39,224 billion.
• The trading range is 29.24 points. The market had 141 gainers, 54 remaining unchanged, 180 losers.
• Foreign investors' net selling value: VND -2304.83 billion on HOSE, including SSI (VND -466.96 billion), CTG (VND -386.16 billion), FPT (VND -287.62 billion), HPG (VND -282.00 billion), VHM (VND -153.86 billion). Foreign investors were net sellers on HNX with the value of VND -162.04 billion.
