BSC Brief | 19.08: VN-Index trades within 1,625–1,665 range

MARKET OUTLOOK
The VN-Index started the session on a strong note, reaching 1,655 before moving sideways around this level and eventually closing at 1,654.2, up more than 18 points from yesterday. Market breadth tilted positive, with 9 out of 18 sectors gaining. Media led the gains, followed by Oil & Gas, while Insurance sector posted the sharpest decline. In terms of foreign trading, net selling was recorded on the HSX and UPCOM, while net buying occurred on the HNX. In the coming sessions, the VN-Index is expected to continue seeking equilibrium within the 1,625–1,665 range.

During the trading session on 19/08/2025, warrants fluctuated according to the struggling movement of the underlying stocks.

• Pulling the index up: VPB (+4.35), TCB (+2.12), LPB (+2.00), ACB (+1.76), HDB (+1.74).
• Pulling the index down: MWG (-0.67), VCB (-0.59), HPG (-0.44), SHB (-0.33), BVH (-0.27).
• The matched trade value of VN-Index reached VND 49,851 billion, increased 16.45% compared to the previous session. The total transaction value reached VND 54,554 billion.
• The trading range is 29.11 points. The market had 189 gainers, 44 remaining unchanged, 144 losers.
• Foreign investors' net selling value: VND -1504.18 billion on HOSE, including MWG (VND -329.57 billion), KDH (VND -180.71 billion), HPG (VND -161.69 billion), FPT (VND -157.68 billion), VIC (VND -136.45 billion). Foreign investors were net buyers on HNX with the value of VND 13.52 billion.
