BSC Brief | 20.08: VN-Index trades in a wide range

MARKET OUTLOOK
The VN-Index fell below the 1,615 level during today’s session; however, strong bottom-fishing demand at this threshold helped the index recover and close at 1,664.36, up more than 10 points from yesterday. Decliners outnumbered gainers, with only 6 out of 18 sectors advancing, led by Vin group stocks and Banks, which acted as key market supporters. In terms of foreign trading, net selling was recorded on the HSX and UPCOM, while net buying occurred on the HNX. The long lower shadow in today’s candlestick indicates that market sentiment remains tilted toward buying. In the upcoming sessions, the index is expected to continue seeking equilibrium within the 1,615–1,665 range.
