BSC Brief | 26.08: VN-Index Trades in a Wide Range

MARKET OUTLOOK
The VN-Index surged by nearly 54 points today, closing at 1,667.63. Market breadth tilted to the positive side with 18 out of 18 sectors advancing, led by Financial Services and Retail, both gaining nearly 6%. Regarding foreign investors, net buying was recorded on the HSX while net selling occurred on the other two exchanges. Although today’s bullish candlestick engulfed the previous bearish one, market liquidity remained weak. In the coming sessions, the VN-Index is likely to shift its trading range downward and seek a balance between the 1,600–1,670 zone, rather than around the 1,690 level seen in previous sessions.

• Foreign investors' net buying value: VND 875.07 billion on HOSE, including MSB (VND 655.41 billion), VIX (VND 145.60 billion), MWG (VND 121.64 billion), TPB (VND 74.83 billion), TAL (VND 70.66 billion). Foreign investors were net sellers on HNX with the value of VND -51.29 billion.
