BSC Brief | 29.08: VN-Index struggled to break through the 1,700 level

MARKET OUTLOOK
The VN-Index continued to consolidate at the peak range today, closing at 1,682.21 points, up slightly by just over 1 point compared to yesterday. Although 12 out of 18 sectors declined, the number of advancing stocks outpaced decliners, indicating a trend of diverging capital flows. The Financial Services sector led the gains, followed by Basic Resources. In terms of foreign trading, investors continued strong net selling of over VND 3.5 trillion on the HSX. The market is consolidating below the previous 1,700 peak and has yet to show signs of resolution. This sideways movement may persist in the short term until a decisive candle accompanied by supportive liquidity emerges.

• The trading range is 16.6 points. The market had 172 gainers, 56 remaining unchanged, 149 losers.
• Foreign investors' net selling value: VND -3623.94 billion on HOSE, including MBB (VND -434.68 billion), HPG (VND -373.81 billion), FPT (VND -355.77 billion), SSI (VND -338.07 billion), VIX (VND -337.56 billion). Foreign investors were net buyers on HNX with the value of VND 61.00 billion.
