BSC Brief | 30.09: VN-Index falls below SMA50, downside risks increase

MARKET OUTLOOK
VN-Index continued to trade lower in a choppy session today, losing more than 9 points to close at 1,768.62 points. Market breadth was negative, with 12 of 18 sectors declining. Oil & Gas posted the steepest loss, followed by Personal & Household Goods, Utilities, and Real Estate. Most other sectors saw no significant movements. Foreign investors were net sellers across all three exchanges, including HSX, HNX, and UPCOM. The index closed below its 50-day SMA. Investors should remain cautious, as VN-Index may continue to retreat toward the 1,740 area, corresponding to the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement level of the uptrend from late July.

• Foreign investors' net selling value: VND -890.26 billion on HOSE, including VHM (VND -329.28 billion), TCB (VND -156.31 billion), VIC (VND -82.22 billion), PNJ (VND -62.30 billion), VPB (VND -57.14 billion). Foreign investors were net sellers on HNX with the value of VND -11.86 billion.
