BSC Brief | 10.02: The market remained subdued ahead of the Tet holiday

MARKET OUTLOOK
The VN-Index traded sideways within the 1,741–1,777 range throughout the session and closed at 1,754.03. Market breadth was negative, with 14 out of 18 sectors declining, led by the Oil & Gas sector, which posted the sharpest drop. On the upside, the Real Estate sector led the gains. Regarding foreign trading activity, foreign investors were net buyers across all three exchanges—HSX, HNX, and UPCoM—today. Sideways trading accompanied by low liquidity is likely to persist through the rest of this week, with a clearer trend potentially emerging after the Lunar New Year.

• Foreign investors' net buying value: VND 758.36 billion on HOSE, including MBB (VND 572.01 billion), VIC (VND 209.55 billion), MWG (VND 200.31 billion), DCM (VND 81.71 billion), DPM (VND 74.07 billion). Foreign investors were net buyers on HNX with the value of VND 144.26 billion.
