BSC Brief | 23.02: The VN-Index gained more than 36 points in the first trading session of the new year

MARKET OUTLOOK
The VN-Index gained more than 36 points in the first trading session of the Lunar New Year, closing at 1,860.14. Market breadth was strongly positive, with 16 out of 18 sectors advancing. Oil & Gas led the rally, followed by Insurance and Chemicals. On the downside, Information Technology and Retail recorded declines. Regarding foreign flows, foreign investors were net sellers across all three platform HSX, HNX, and UPCOM, today. The market’s advance toward the previous peak of 1,902.93 has been relatively steep and lacks broad-based confirmation. Investors should therefore remain cautious in their trading decisions.

• The matched trade value of VN-Index reached VND 22,739 billion, increased 19.21% compared to the previous session. The total transaction value reached VND 23,589 billion.
• The trading range is 29.23 points. The market had 280 gainers, 38 remaining unchanged, 73 losers.
• Foreign investors' net selling value: VND -1116.69 billion on HOSE, including FPT (VND -1140.18 billion), VCB (VND -265.40 billion), VPB (VND -163.49 billion), MWG (VND -116.76 billion), DGW (VND -80.86 billion). Foreign investors were net sellers on HNX with the value of VND -67.22 billion.
