BSC Brief | 16.03: The market is searching for a new equilibrium

MARKET OUTLOOK
The VN-Index closed at 1,693.21, edging down by 3 points from the previous session. Market breadth was relatively balanced, with 8 out of 18 sectors advancing. The Food & Beverage sector led the gains, followed by Information Technology. On the downside, the Utilities sector recorded the sharpest decline. Regarding foreign trading activity, foreign investors were net sellers of more than VND 1 trillion on the HSX, while posting net buying on the other two exchanges. The VN-Index is currently in the process of probing for a short-term bottom, with the next support level around 1,650. Investors should therefore trade cautiously in the coming sessions.

All futures contracts increased, moving opposite to the decline of the VN30.

• The matched trade value of VN-Index reached VND 20,382 billion, decreased -17.71% compared to the previous session. The total transaction value reached VND 23,103 billion.
• The trading range is 26.3 points. The market had 149 gainers, 74 remaining unchanged, 155 losers.
• Foreign investors' net selling value: VND -1377.24 billion on HOSE, including BSR (VND -181.33 billion), VIC (VND -159.81 billion), PVD (VND -147.28 billion), VHM (VND -139.63 billion), STB (VND -119.77 billion). Foreign investors were net buyers on HNX with the value of VND 70.08 billion.
