BSC Brief | 08.04: The market traded positively driven by the upgrade news

MARKET OUTLOOK
The VN-Index surged by more than 79 points today, closing at 1,756.55. Market breadth was broadly positive, with all 18 sectors advancing, led by Information Technology and Real Estate. Foreign investors recorded net selling across all three exchanges (HSX, HNX, and UPCOM). The news of FTSE upgrading Vietnam’s stock market from frontier to secondary emerging status was immediately priced in during today’s session; the VN-Index decisively broke above the 1,700–1,710 range and advanced toward the 1,750–1,770 zone. The index has completed an inverse head-and-shoulders pattern and may target the 1,840 level in the coming sessions.
