BSC Brief | 17.04: The steep upward momentum has slowed

MARKET OUTLOOK
After fluctuating within the 1,812–1,847 range, the VN-Index closed at 1,817.17, down nearly 3 points from the previous session. Market breadth was relatively balanced, with 11 out of 18 sectors advancing, led by Retail, followed by Oil & Gas, Chemicals, and Information Technology, among others, while Travel & Leisure posted the steepest decline. Regarding foreign investor activity, net buying was recorded on the HSX, while net selling was observed on the other two exchanges. The short-term steep upward momentum has slowed; in the coming sessions, the VN-Index will need time to establish a new equilibrium.

• The trading range is 31.72 points. The market had 178 gainers, 54 remaining unchanged, 146 losers.
• Foreign investors' net buying value: VND 106.47 billion on HOSE, including VIC (VND 314.59 billion), MWG (VND 194.88 billion), MSN (VND 98.85 billion), FPT (VND 62.78 billion), VPI (VND 40.00 billion). Foreign investors were net sellers on HNX with the value of VND -43.91 billion.
