BSC Brief | 08.05: Large-cap stocks played a supportive role for the market

MARKET OUTLOOK
The VN-Index fluctuated within the 1,897–1,922 range before closing at 1,915.37 points, up more than 6 points compared to the previous session. Market breadth tilted negative, with 12 out of 18 sectors declining, led by Insurance, followed by Retail. On the other hand, the Industrial Goods & Services sector led the gains. Regarding foreign flows, investors recorded net selling on HSX and UPCOM, while net buying was observed on HNX. Large-cap stocks continued to act as the market’s main support today. Although the VN-Index has broken above its previous peak, stronger market consensus is still needed for the index to decisively move beyond the 1,900–1,920 range.

• Foreign investors' net selling value: VND -888.86 billion on HOSE, including FPT (VND -445.03 billion), VHM (VND -266.92 billion), ACB (VND -138.41 billion), MSB (VND -109.71 billion), CTD (VND -79.79 billion). Foreign investors were net buyers on HNX with the value of VND 1.57 billion.
