BSC Brief | 17.06: The VN-Index continued to fluctuate around the 1,800 level

MARKET OUTLOOK
The VN-Index fell from the opening bell, dropping to the 1,787 level before bottom-fishing demand emerged and helped the index recover in the afternoon session, narrowing its losses. The index eventually closed at 1,806.20 points, virtually unchanged from the previous session. Advancers outnumbered decliners, while 9 out of 18 sectors posted gains. The Insurance sector led the market higher, followed by Media, whereas Oil & Gas and Information Technology both declined by more than 1%. Other sectors showed little notable movement. Regarding foreign flows, investors recorded net selling across all three exchanges—HSX, HNX, and UPCOM, including net sales of more than VND 3 trillion on HSX. Overall, capital flows have become more broadly distributed and market sentiment remains relatively stable. However, stronger liquidity support is still needed for the VN-Index to confirm a trend reversal.

All VN30 futures contracts declined in line with the movement of the VN30 index.

During the trading session on 17/06/2026, most covered warrants fluctuated in line with the sideways movement of the underlying stocks.

• Pulling the index up: BID (+1.68), CTG (+1.02), VJC (+0.78), VCB (+0.72), STB (+0.33).
• Pulling the index down: VIC (-3.28), VHM (-1.31), HVN (-0.97), BSR (-0.47), GAS (-0.46).
• The matched trade value of VN-Index reached VND 17,133 billion, increased 19.44% compared to the previous session. The total transaction value reached VND 24,209 billion.
• The trading range is 20.68 points. The market had 174 gainers, 65 remaining unchanged, 129 losers.
• Foreign investors' net selling value: VND -3174.68 billion on HOSE, including VIC (VND -2236.84 billion), FPT (VND -282.95 billion), VHM (VND -235.83 billion), TCB (VND -191.11 billion), VCB (VND -179.19 billion). Foreign investors were net sellers on HNX with the value of VND -24.87 billion.
