BSC Brief | 04.08: VN-Index approaches 1,800 amid weak market breadth

MARKET OUTLOOK
The VN-Index gained more than 14 points today to close at 1,777.23. Market breadth remained positive, with 12 out of 18 sectors advancing. The Personal & Household Goods sector led the gains, followed by Real Estate. Regarding foreign trading activity, foreign investors were net buyers on HOSE but net sellers on HNX and UPCOM. The VN-Index is approaching the 1,800-point level, but the advance has yet to be supported by broad-based buying interest.

All VN30 futures contracts increased in line with the VN30 Index.

During the trading session on 04/08/2026, most covered warrants fluctuated in line with the fluctuating movement of the underlying stocks.

• Pulling the index up: VIC (+8.31), VHM (+4.34), STB (+1.06), HDB (+0.75), MBB (+0.69).
• Pulling the index down: VCB (-1.38), HPG (-0.69), GAS (-0.64), BSR (-0.51), TCB (-0.44).
• The matched trade value of VN-Index reached VND 14,049 billion, decreased -14.70% compared to the previous session. The total transaction value reached VND 18,181 billion.
• The trading range is 17.59 points. The market had 175 gainers, 53 remaining unchanged, 140 losers.
• Foreign investors' net buying value: VND 891.29 billion on HOSE, including VIC (VND 438.45 billion), VHM (VND 283.84 billion), MBB (VND 171.63 billion), PNJ (VND 123.66 billion), FPT (VND 108.08 billion). Foreign investors were net sellers on HNX with the value of VND -13.76 billion.
