BSC Brief | 14.08: The market fell sharply by more than 36 points

MARKET OUTLOOK
The VN-Index fell by more than 36 points today, closing at 1,729.08 points. Market breadth was broadly negative, with 17 out of 18 sectors declining. Real Estate posted the steepest loss, followed by Oil & Gas and Chemicals. In contrast, Personal & Household Goods was the only sector to advance, gaining slightly more than 0.75% during the session. Regarding foreign investor activity, foreign investors were net sellers on the HSX while recording net buying on the HNX and UPCoM. The market is showing signs of weakening after a period of consolidation within the 1,750–1,790 range. In the coming sessions, if selling pressure continues to increase, the VN-Index may retreat to retest the short-term support zone of 1,700–1,720 points.

• The matched trade value of VN-Index reached VND 16,163 billion, decreased -1.06% compared to the previous session. The total transaction value reached VND 19,417 billion.
• The trading range is 45.96 points. The market had 67 gainers, 49 remaining unchanged, 257 losers.
• Foreign investors' net selling value: VND -878.14 billion on HOSE, including VIC (VND -480.29 billion), VHM (VND -184.61 billion), SHB (VND -99.79 billion), MSN (VND -76.76 billion), VCB (VND -53.35 billion). Foreign investors were net buyers on HNX with the value of VND 10.24 billion.
