MARKET OUTLOOK
VN-Index declined right from the opening. The downward momentum eased as the index approached the 1,815 level. However, selling pressure intensified in the latter half of the afternoon session, pushing the VN-Index down to close at 1,795.21 points, more than 34 points lower than the previous session. Market breadth was negative, with 16 out of 18 sectors declining. Chemicals posted the steepest loss, followed by Financial Services. In contrast, Insurance and Oil & Gas managed to stay in positive territory. Regarding foreign trading, foreign investors were net sellers on HSX and net buyers on HNX and UPCoM. The VN-Index fell sharply below the 1,800 level, accompanied by a strong increase in liquidity. Profit-taking pressure following the steep rebound over the past few weeks may persist in the short term and could bring the index back toward the 1,765 area. Investors are advised to trade cautiously.
