BSC Brief | 07.10: Market remains in a wait-and-see mode as VN-Index fails to break above resistance

MARKET OUTLOOK
VN-Index moved lower in a range-bound manner during the morning session and at one point retreated to around 1,745 points. In the afternoon, bottom-fishing demand emerged, helping the index recover and narrow its losses. At the close, the VN-Index settled at 1,753.39 points, down nearly 6 points from the previous session. Market breadth was fairly balanced, with 9 out of 18 sectors gaining. Media led the gains, followed by Chemicals and Oil & Gas. Regarding foreign trading, foreign investors were net sellers on HSX and HNX, while recording slight net buying on UPCoM. Market movements continued to reflect a wait-and-see stance, as rebounds have yet to show sustained momentum and the VN-Index has not been able to move higher to fill the gap in the 1,768–1,778 range. Investors are advised to continue trading cautiously.
