BSC Brief | 13.10: The market continued to search for a bottom

MARKET OUTLOOK
The VN-Index traded within a narrow range of 1,711–1,726 points and closed at 1,719.42 points, down slightly by 1.56 points (-0.09%) from the previous session. Market breadth skewed negative, with 15 out of 18 sectors declining. Media posted the steepest decline, followed by insurance and information technology. On the upside, personal & household goods, real estate, and healthcare were the three sectors that managed to stay in positive territory during the session. Regarding foreign trading, foreign investors continued to record net selling across all three exchanges: HOSE, HNX, and UPCoM. The VN-Index formed a small-bodied candlestick with liquidity below the 20-session average, suggesting that selling pressure has shown signs of slowing, but buying demand remains insufficient to trigger a recovery. In the coming sessions, the market may continue to search for a bottom and test demand around the psychological support level of 1,700 points. If this level is breached, the index may retreat to the next support area around 1,675 points.

• Foreign investors' net selling value: VND -433.64 billion on HOSE, including FPT (VND -106.80 billion), GMD (VND -44.46 billion), MSB (VND -42.08 billion), VPB (VND -37.61 billion), TCB (VND -34.78 billion). Foreign investors were net sellers on HNX with the value of VND -24.05 billion.
