Privacy Principles
In order to ensure the confidentiality of customer information, BSC implements the following principles:
- Only ask customers to provide information that BSC thinks is relevant to the financial needs and transactions between customers and BSC;
- Using customer's personal information to provide better service and product quality;
- Do not disclose personal information to outside organizations unless the customer consents or is required by law
- Customer information is kept accurate and up to date
- Using a strict security system to prevent unauthorized person from accessing customer information, including BSC employees
- Individuals or third parties with access to customers' personal information are explicitly required to comply with the confidentiality obligations set forth by BSC.
Data security
All customers' information on the BSC system is kept confidential according to standards.
Client: In the process of providing information to us, customers can rest assured because 256-bit Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology will protect information during transmission on the Internet.
Servers: BSC's servers are protected by a "firewall" and an "intrusion detection and prevention (IDS/IPS)" system that is constantly monitored by the administrator to prevent any unauthorized or suspicious access. The customer's password is encrypted one-way, so even the server administrator cannot know the customer's password.
When having a security problem, customers need to contact BSC immediately to avoid fraudsters taking advantage of loopholes.
Account security
- All customers' account information interacting with BSC system through receiving and sending emails. Therefore, to ensure personal information, customers need to secure their email information.
- Account information should not be written anywhere, but should be kept in mind.
- Customers must pay attention to logout of BSC's online transaction system by clicking the "Logout" button in the right corner of the screen, do not perform sudden shutdown of the browser.
- BSC will never ask a customer for an account password to ensure that only the customer knows the password. Do not choose easy-to-guess numbers like your birthday, phone number or part of your name as a password. If customers believe that their account information or confidential codes have been disclosed to a third party, lost or stolen, and as a result, a transaction not conducted by them may arise, customers are responsible for notifying BSC immediately.
- Both BSC and customers play an important role in fighting fraud. It is the customer's responsibility not to intentionally or unintentionally disclose their account information to others.
Confidentiality of customer information
Promotions, marketing: during promotions (online, over the phone or at a branch), BSC may collect personal information from people who agree to provide information about them. BSC may use this information to advise on products, services and related marketing materials. Customers have the right to choose to receive marketing materials by e-mail and by handwritten letter, and have the right to stop receiving these materials upon request.
Other terms
BSC reserves the right to amend and update the matters listed above in this privacy policy at any time without prior notice to the customer. The most up-to-date privacy policy will be stored/displayed on BSC's website.
