Market outlook  

Stock market: VN-Index continued to test the 1,040 threshold right from the opening; however, the index bounced back right after and struggled around 1,030 before dropping further to close at 1,024.77, down nearly 13 points compared to yesterday. Market breadth was skewed to the negative side with 16 out of 19 sectors dropping, of which the biggest losers were Retail and Financial Services. Regarding the transactions of foreign investors, today they continued to net sell on the HSX and slightly net buy on the HNX. In the coming sessions, it is likely that VN-Index will continue to struggle in the range of 1,020-1,040.

Future contracts: Future contracts decreased following the movement of VN30. It is recommended that investors trade cautiously in the coming sessions.

Covered warrants: In the trading session on March 3, 2023, covered warrants fluctuated along with the downtrend of the underlying stocks.

Highlights:
• VN-Index -12.84 points, closing at 1024.77. HNX-Index -1.25 points, closing at 204.89.
• Pulling the index up: STG (+0.05), PLX (+0.05), VSC (+0.03), HRC (+0.02), CAV (+0.02).
• Pulling the index down: VCB (-2.73), MSN (-1.07), BID (-0.63), VPB (-0.51), ACB (-0.47).
• The matched value of VN-Index reached VND 5,987 billion, increased 16.39% compared to the previous session. The total transaction value reached VND 7,211 billion.
• The trading range is 19.04 points. The market had 82 advancers, 53 reference stocks, 317 decliners.
• Foreign investors' net selling value: VND -126.53 billion on HOSE, including HPG (-50.61 billion), SSI (-25.81 billion), VCB (-23.71 billion). Foreign investors were net buyers on HNX with the value of VND 7 billion.
